SERVICES PROVIDED

The Bemidji Fire Department responds to an average of over 1,200 emergency calls per year.

FIREFIGHTING STAFFING

Bemidji Firefighters are a group of highly skilled individuals.  There is a combination of both full-time and paid on-call firefighters serving Bemidji and surrounding areas.  Bemidji full-time Firefighters are members of the International Association of Firefighters Union, Local #2302.

FIRE SUPPRESSION

Bemidji Firefighters are highly trained interior firefighters.  Firefighters have been specifically trained to enter hazardous atmospheres, perform rescue operations, and suppress or contain fire situations. 

FIRE PREVENTION AND EDUCATION

The primary mission of the Bemidji Fire Department is to protect the lives and property of our citizens.  With Education and prevention, we are able to be proactive within the three cities and 15 townships in our fire protection area.
