Membership
The Charter Commission is an independent body. Its members are appointed by the Chief Judge of the Ninth Judicial District. The commission is tasked to periodically review and suggest resolutions regarding issues related to the charter.
The Commission meets annually in June. Members serve staggered, four-year terms which terms expire June 1. Notices of vacancies and the annual appointment process for the Charter Commission will be posted here. Once appointed, members are required to attend all meetings and must acquaint themselves with the needs of the city with a view to making recommendations to this Commission.
Applications are being accepted for the Bemidji Charter Commission from April 1, 2025 until Friday, April 25, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. There are two terms expiring June 1, 2025.
