The Building Office oversees all new construction and remodeling projects in the City of Bemidji. Most projects require a building permit and you should contact the Building Office prior to construction/remodeling. Please refer to the City Code, Chapter 10 for construction licensing, permits and regulations. The City has adopted the Property Maintenance Code.

The Building Office is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all city-owned buildings. They provide construction administration and design for a variety of building repair and rehabilitation projects throughout the year.
